Mural urbano: miradas desde el corazón, en el instituto especial para ciegos Byron Eguiguren de la ciudad de Loja

Abstract

Abstract:The urban mural is conceived as a freer form of expression in its themes and techniques than muralism; It allows to transform an unattractive space of the urban environment into a proposal that surprises or motivates by its message to the whole community, its main objective is to reach an open audience that has or not knowledge of art. The research focuses on improving part of the wall surrounding the Byron Eguiguren Institute for the Blind in the city of Loja and reflecting the happiness, creative energy, innocence and curiosity that blind children have. Through the study of concepts that underlie Urban Art and having considered from the beginning to spend quality time with the children of the institute, there was the possibility of knowing their inner world, dreams and joy of living, which facilitated the making of sketches which served as an opening for the creation of the mural.
