Diseño de un Plan Estratégico de Desarrollo Turístico Sustentable para la comunidad Corazón de San Jerónimo, parroquia La Carolina, Provincia Imbabura, 2018

Abstract

Abstract:This investigation develops a strategic plan for the development of sustainable tourism in the community Corazón de San Jerónimo in 2018. First we develop the community´s situational analysis which indicates different aspects such as spatial physical area, socio-cultural, ecological territorial, economic productive and political administrative which explains the background, the current situation, and the problems and strengths of the zone. Through different visits to the community and the coordination with the entrepreneurs we could determine the existing tourist potential of the zone and we were able to do an inventory of its tourist attractions. Additionally, through a survey done to different tourists, we could determine the visitors' profiles, their preferences, age, and type of tourism that the community may target for its development. With all the collected information, we did the FODA analysis which allowed us to obtain real strategies applicables to the zone. Finally, we develop necessary work programs and development projects in order to improve the tourist potential of Corazón de San Jerónimo community.
