Abstract

Abstract: The present investigation was carried out with the objective of designing an Environmental Management System based on the ISO 14001: 2015 standard for the Decentralized Autonomous Government of the Mera Canton, which allows to increase the environmental sensitivity of those who work in this area. institution and achieve better environmental management through prevention. For which, an Initial Environmental Review was conducted that allowed diagnosing the current situation of the Municipal GAD of the Mera canton in relation to the Environmental Management, allowing to determine which activities and processes developed by the GAD generate negative impacts, based on this information, we proceeded to Develop the Environmental Management System. Visits were also made to the institution's facilities to have an adequate approach both with human talent and with the processes that are carried out there, managing to gather existing information in said unit based on the ISO 14001: 2015 Standard. The EMS will be socialized internally and externally, that is, with the staff working in the GAD and institutions and the general public.
