Abstract

Abstract:Salamanca is a Spanish city with great tourist potential from a cultural point of view. It was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988 and stands out for its architectural monuments of great historical importance. This research focused on find out the use of heritage assets for tourism purposes in the historic centre of Salamanca, in which, a diagnosis of heritage assets is made based on an inventory. The research is qualitative with a descriptive approach, that s why a review of bibliographical documents and a field visit to the study area is made by applying a technical sheet, direct observation and interviews to collect information from tangible and intangible heritage. Once the assets of cultural interest have been determined, proposals are made for the rehabilitation of two assets in order to diversify the cultural offer in this area and also to boost the economy of the place by valuing the oral tradition as a legacy, which is part of the identity of the local population.
