Percepciones de los productores campesinos sobre la conservación en la Reserva Ecológica Arenillas, provincia de El Oro

Abstract

Abstract: The work was carried out in the western buffer zone of the Arenillas Ecological Reserve (REA) in the Chacras and Carcabón parishes, Arenillas canton, El Oro province, with the purpose of knowing the perception of the farmers about the productive activity they carry out and their conservation of the REA environment; and establish work guidelines that strengthen the management of protected areas (PA) from the peasant production approach. We worked in five localities adjacent to the REA, this research is descriptive in nature, since information was collected without manipulating the variables. A survey was applied to 329 agricultural producers, the results determine that the agricultural border advances considerably causing invasions in the territorial limits of the reserve. This research allows knowing the opinion of the peasants that adjoin a PA, in relation to their productive activity and conservation of natural resources, it is also a baseline for future research and thus proposing necessary measures that promote a sustainable development of productivity and Conservation in the buffer zone of the protected area in the southern region of Ecuador.
