Abstract

Abstract: The present work arises before the loss of the modern architectural heritage of the city of Loja, which is caused by the lack of knowledge of the work done by the first architects to reach the city, triggering itself in the oblivion and uproot the contributions inherited by them. These are testament to the progress and urban, technical and constructive development of the architecture in Loja. Therefore, the general objective of this research is to study the life and work of one of the most representative architects of the city of Loja in the second half of the twentieth century, the Arq. Guillermo José Beltrán Beltrán, who is one of the top ten architects to practice the profession in the city. The methodology used consisted of the execution of interviews with the sons and friends of the architect Guillermo José Beltran Beltrán where important information was obtained for the elaboration of the biography in which he stands out as an important character in the culture and architecture of the city. An architectural catalogue of all his constructions and an artistic catalogue was made to finally select a home without relevant interventions and proceed to the formal, functional and constructive analysis.
