Abstract

Abstract: The main objective of this research was to study digital convergence and transmediality in the main newspapers from the Andean Community of Nations. It analyzes how the Internet has configured the multiple forms of narratives in online newspapers. The change in these media have been seen in the way reporting is done because it establishes a new format for production, dissemination, and consumption. The convergence analysis is framed from Salaverría's postulations, and transmediality from Jenkins' theory of the seven principles. The methodology used is mixed. The sample set is from the four newspapers with the most web popularity. The behavior of the use of its web platform was observed. Registering the dynamics of technological innovation demanded and experimentation according to the narrative needs of their social profiles. The results showed that newspapers comply with the seven principles and that they converge through interactive links with existing media. In conclusion, the study shows the convergence and the transmedia condition in these media is of vital importance for subsistence in the digital age era.
