Abstract

Abstract: To determine the link between humanized nursing care and the perception of hospitalized users in the area of surgery, through the use of the Perception of Humanized Care PCHE third version. From the perspective of a descriptive cross-sectional study, the study sample was 60 people, admitted to the Surgery area of the Isidro Ayora General Hospital in the city of Loja, during the months of December 2019 until February 2020. an informed consent was integrated for the application of the instrument, which contains two parts; the first a sociodemographic survey and the second the Instrument of Perception of Humanized Nursing Care - PCHE third version, the Likert scale consists of: Never (1), Sometimes (2), Almost Always (3) and Always (4), with which care was identified in each of the categories, 100 % (60), the predominant sex is male, and the age is between 18 - 33 years old, with a primary school level of 45 % and, 38% married; in terms of PCHE, 62 % have a GOOD global perception of Humanized care provided by nursing professionals, the categories Prioritize the subject of care (the person) (42 %), Open communication to provide health education to the person (46 %) and Nursing qualities (42 %) are the relevant percentages obtained in the indicator Sometimes. The overall perception of the humanized care of the majority of the patients admitted to the surgery area was GOOD, to which it can be said that the humanized care is not being applied in its entirety and in the three categories the item predominates sometimes.
