Diseño de un taller de capacitación en muestreos genéticos orientados a técnicos de vida silvestre

Abstract

Abstract: Genetic studies have become an important component of wildlife science. The success of these studies depends on many factors; highlighting the field sampling method - genetic sampling - because it directly influences the results. This phase is usually carried out by the same research group, but many times to enhance the studies requires the collaboration of the personnel who work daily in the study area, such as park rangers. However, the reality of the knowledge / training that park rangers have in this area can be very heterogeneous. Consequently, prior training for this type of collaboration requires converting scientific / technical information into easily assimilated information. In the Latin American region, no self-training workshops have been found on this subject and aimed at this audience; being the objective of this work to provide a first approximation in this line. The workshop consists of written and audiovisual didactic material on wildlife genetic sampling in the field, and aims for the practicing user to seek an acceptable quality of samples collected for subsequent genetic analysis.
