Malecón Zapotillo como elemento dinamizador urbano

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to analyze and propose the Malecon Zapotillo as a socio-economic dynamizing element of the city and integrating with the CatamayoRiver to improve the quality of life and the environment of the Zapotillana population. The Zapotillo boardwalk, located adjacent to the Catamayo River (border with the Republic of Peru), is a meeting place for the population, which presents regular conditions, which has several problems such as the lack of adequate spaces for the enjoyment of the elderly and children, poor furniture and no signage. Another problem is the lack of green area and the little use of the natural resource that is around the Malecon of the Catamayo river. Faced with this problem, it is worth asking: What strategies are the most appropriate to rehabilitate the Zapotillo boardwalk as a structuring and dynamic urban element of the city? In order to respond, consecutive stages are followed, such as the diagnosis of the reality of the Malecon de Zapotillo, identification of strengths and weaknesses, creation of an objective image and formulation of an architectural proposal. This research goes hand in hand with the initiative of the local government to improve the economy of Zapotillo, to encourage tourism, a source of employment in the creation of an economic centrality for the population.
