Abstract: The cities on the Andean geography are defined by natural boundaries with mountains, which point to a break between the urban and the edge, the peripheral neighborhood is part of this context and acquires its own characteristics. There are different features that distinguish it from the consolidated neighborhoods. Under this concept, the Las Palmeras neighborhood is analyzed, which is located on the southeast edge of the city of Loja. Determining the basic guidelines for the development of the topic in front of the situation of the place.The purpose of this work is to consolidate the peripheral sector, through a prototype of productive social housing, with flexibility and sustainability solutions. Creating new opportunities for residents to reactivate their economy through urban plots or orchards, as well as through other productive activities. Ensuring food sovereignty that will define the production policies of the sector and developing a work model for the self-support of the neighborhood.
