Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this work is to analyze development from its essence; coloniality, and how through it has been impregnated in society as an ideal to follow, even when this idea was promoted by developed countries to maintain control over underdeveloped countries. In this context, decoloniality is presented as the basis for looking at development from a different perspective and seeking alternatives to it, moving away from the current model and promoting alternatives that emerge from society, through the participation of the groups and movements that generate options that are full of the reality that each people and society have; post-development, seeks to promote alternatives to development, taking into account the cultural diversity, the ancestral knowledge of each people and their worldview; separating from western thought and way of life. Among the alternatives that have emerged to the current model and to development is also the decrease, promoting and promoting a voluntary decrease in production and consumption; For which, a radical transformation of society is necessary.
