Foto-guía de flores de un matorral seco, una herramienta para la gestión y manejo de la diversidad vegetal

Abstract

Abstract: Photography is a tool that allows the interpretation and dissemination of information of a visual nature. The present study had the objective of identifying the diversity of flowers in the dry brush in southern Ecuador; through photographic records. For this purpose, visits were made in situ to the "Alamala" sector of the Catamayo canton and, using photographic records, a photo library, photo-guide, was elaborated, which consists of four chapters; the first three deal with the dry brush ecosystem and the flowers; and the last one refers to the photographic guide, also, a flowering calendar was elaborated. At the end of the study, there were obtained photographic records of 46 species belonging to 20 families, where it was possible to evidence the diversity of forms, sizes, and colors, being the yellow color the most predominant, however, some species presented two floral morphs that possibly is due to polymorphism. The results will allow generating a baseline for future studies in floral biology and being a tool for management programs and management of dry brush species.
