| dc.description | Resumen: La aplicación de la tecnología en el aprendizaje ha ofrecido importantes beneficios a los estudiantes y ha tenido un gran impacto en la educación. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la influencia del uso de wikis en las habilidades de escritura de los estudiantes de inglés como lengua extranjera. Antes de que se implemetaran las actividades en la wiki, se aplicó una prueba a 25 participantes en una escuela secundaria pública ubicada en la ciudad de Loja. Después de la implementación de las actividades en la wiki, se aplicó una prueba y una encuesta. Los resultados mostraron mejoras en el rendimiento de escritura de los estudiantes. El análisis de datos llego a la conclusión de que el uso de wikis puede tener un gran impacto en el uso de estructuras gramaticales, párrafos y redacción de ensayos. Además, los resultados han revelado que los estudiantes y profesores tienen una actitud positiva hacia las actividades propuestas en la wiki. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: The implementation of technology into learning has offered significant benefits to learners and has greatly impacted education. The aim of this study is to analyze the influence of the use of wikis on EFL students writing skills. Before the wiki-based activities were implemented, a pre-test was applied to 25 participants in a public high school located in the city of Loja. After the implementation of the wiki-based activities, a post-test and a survey were applied. The data collected was analyzed in a qualitative and quantitative manner in order to compare before and after the implementation of wiki-based activities. Results showed improvements on students writing performance. Data analysis reached the conclusion that the use of wikis can greatly impact on the use of grammatical structures, paragraphs and essay writing. Furthermore, the results have revealed that students and teachers have a positive attitude toward the wiki-based activities. | es_ES |
