Abstract

Abstract:Informal human settlements are a reality, being present especially in developing countries. These settlements are understood as those self-conceived agglomerations under terms of informality, so, under the non-observance of the Land Use Planning. Consequently, local governments have labeled this type of settlements as a problem and a kind of obstacle to their management. In this context, this document was developed with the objective of generating a planning proposal for informal human settlements located in interface zones, from a land use planning approach, through a case study: Informal human settlements in the Rosaspamba sector, San Luis parish, Riobamba canton, Chimborazo province. A characterization of the settlements has been generated, a situation that allowed the identification of the elements that make up the "Rosaspamba" Territorial System. Subsequently, a Territorial Diagnosis of the settlements has been carried out, in order to understand the interactions, relationships and flows between the elements of the territorial system. Finally, a Planning Proposal has been made in order to face the problems, take advantage of the potentialities, guide the planning processes and improve the population's quality of life.
