Análisis comparativo del impacto del Covid-19 en la ciudad de Quito en el año 2020. Caso de estudio Airbnb Quito.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to determine the negative impact, that the expansion of the Covid-19 pandemic had in the city of Quito, on the accommodation sector, focusing on the behavior of the Airbnb platform in the years prior to the pandemic and in those months where a quarantine period was lived, in order to analyze the losses caused by it. For this, it began with the collection of data, obtained from various sources, mainly in digital form from the AIRDNA platform and others online, since, due to the pandemic, the review of the aforementioned data could not be done in person or physically because of the restrictions imposed by the COE during the emergency. Subsequently, a comparative analysis was carried out, with regards to occupation and income in the years and months prior to the declaration of health emergency with the months during the quarantine, focusing on the economic aspect, and in this way have a clearer picture of the consequences of Covid-19. In the end, it was confirmed, through my research, and the magnitude that this emergency had on the platform in question was better understood.
