Abstract

Abstract:The present research work focuses on the productivity of corn cultivation of small rural producers in southern Ecuador. Saraguro, had the objective of determining the productivity of corn planting. A descriptive quantitative field study was carried out which the aplication of surveys to 92 farmers with questions that collect socioeconomic and financial information that reveals the production process through cash flows: Income, costs and expenses will be valued knowing the productivity and the time in which the small farmer will recover his investment, through the productivity index and financial indicators such as the Internal Rate of Return, Net Present Value, and Cost Benefit Ratio. The results show that the income is relevant, so they cover part of the expenses that generate their investment, therefore, the sowing of corn does not generate appropriate results for the benefit of the farmer.
