Mapeo de iniciativas de investigación y conservación en La Reserva de Biosfera Podocarpus El Cóndor

Abstract

Abstract: Protected areas play an important role in the conservation and protection of biological diversity, in the sustainable use of natural resources and in improving the quality of life of the population. The achievement of these objectives implies action initiatives within them. This paper analyzes the work initiatives and those responsible for them, within the Podocarpus -El Cóndor Biosphere Reserve. For this, surveys were applied, and secondary information was also reviewed. In total,information was obtained from 66 initiatives / projects, which are implemented by 29 entities or key actors. Among the main results, the increase in key initiatives and actors since their recognition; cooperation between key actors to achieve their objectives and some persistent conflicts between them, such as mining extraction. The commitment by the Ministry of the Environment, Water and Ecological Transition, as the head of the reserve management committee, is important to ensure compliance with the proposed guidelines, so as to guarantee sustainable development within the reserve.
