Abstract

Abstract: Constructivism is a theory and a teaching method that has had its rise in recent years, fostering a position in which it is argued that people build their knowledge from the interaction with external and internal factors. The present investigative work has the general objective of explaining the contribution of constructivism to student learning through its role as a foundation in the construction of the Institutional Pedagogical Proposal of the Jorge Rodríguez Román Millennium Educational Unit of the city of Francisco de Orellana. For this, a qualitative design investigation was developed, applying the content analysis method through the document review technique. As a data recording instrument that required the use of a relationship matrix. The present research allowed to conclude that the constructivist model has influenced the development of the didactic proposal analyzed since constructivist principles cited in the pedagogical foundations of it were found, however, there are no specifications about the strategies that are executed based on this theory.
