Guía fotográfica de semillas de matorral seco del sur del Ecuador: Una herramienta para la gestión y manejo de la diversidad vegetal

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this work was to know the diversity of seeds in dry scrub in the south of Ecuador through photographic records. To this end, in April, May and August 2019 and January and March 2020, on-site visits were made to the scrub located in the Alamala sector where the photographs were captured. The same ones that served for the realization of the photoguide called Photographic guide of seeds of dry matorral of the south of Ecuador , which is composed of two chapters showing the diversity of the ecosystem and seed photographs of the 41 species that were found. In addition, with the photographic records and the respective bibliographic search we learned the great importance of the size and color that the seeds possess these provide the important perpetuation of a plant species. This Photographic Guide is a fundamental basis for studies related to the ecology of dry scrub seeds and a tool for management and conservation programs of this ecosystem.
