Ecuadorian public high school teachers perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Abstract: The present study entitled Ecuadorian public high school teachers perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their English as a foreign language classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic aims to analyze the technological resources used by teachers in their teaching. This study was carried outin three public high schools in the cities of Balao, Naranjal, and Guayaquil. A mixed method was applied using quantitative and qualitative approaches.The sample population comprised to ten EFL teachers who were surveyed and interviewed in order to gather detailed and relevant information for the respective analysisand EFL teachers were surveyed and interviewed through Google Forms.The results reveled that all teachers knew the use and benefits of online resources such as W hatsApp, Virtual platforms, PowerPoint presentations and W eb pages, Educational Apps, and Online dictionaries because they are resources that are available for free and are easy to use. On the contrary, the least frequently used are Twitter and Facebook since they are not considered beneficial for EFL teaching by both teachers and parents.
