Evaluación de referencias y contrarreferencias de pacientes con infarto agudo de miocardio aceptados en el servicio de emergencia del Hospital Isidro Ayora Loja en el periodo agosto - diciembre 2020

Abstract

Abstract:In the present study, the references and counterreferences of patients with acute myocardial infarction accepted in the emergency service of the Isidro Ayora Loja Hospital in the período august - december 2020 were analyzed. It is a quantitative, descriptive study with a retrospective cut-off. The results obtained were that the reference diagnosis of 100% of the patients were acute myocardial infarction, but at discharge only 44% had it as a definitive diagnosis, which shows the high percentage of misreferred patients, the main difficulties found in the resolution of cases was poorly referred patients, the absence of a hemodynamic unit and the scarce number of intensive care beds, a situation aggravated by the COVID 19 pandemic that saturated the health systems, the referral causes were common to all cases, limited resolution capacity, lack of professional and lack of specific laboratory tests, 72% of cases were resolved in the hospital with clinical treatment clearly and 16% of patients were referred to another hospital. In addition it was identified that the counterreferences are answered by 100% of the doctors and the reason why not all of them reach the primary health center is that the patients are unaware of the importance of it.
