Intervención Educativa sobre el conocimiento en Signos y Síntomas de Alarma en las gestantes del Centro de Salud Daniel Álvarez

Abstract: Pregnancy results in a series of physiological changes, which could be accompanied by potentially dangerous complications for the mother-child binomial. Raising the theme: educational intervention on knowledge in signs and symptoms of alarm in pregnant women of the Daniel Álvarez health center (Loja-Ecuador), whose main objective was to develop an educational intervention strategy to improve the level of awareness of warning signs and symptoms. A quasi-experimental study was conducted in the months January-June 2021, the sample was constituted by pregnant women who came to the outpatient clinic of the health center, and those captured in home visits before the third trimester of pregnancy. A questionnaire validated by experts (Signs and Symptoms of Obstetric Alarm), applied pre and post intervention, was used, calculating mean knowledge scores that were classified in high, medium and low. The educational intervention had a significant impact, an elevation of approximately 31.6 points was observed with a significance of 95% (p value 0.001) obtaining a better level of knowledge, with regard to situations of danger which may arise during the gestation period.
