Evaluación del comportamiento dinámico de edificaciones típicas de hormigón armado con ampliaciones en acero estructural

Abstract

Abstract: The earthquake of April 2016 shows some of the problems of Ecuador, exposed to seismic movements with a certain frequency and intensity.This work compiles information on reinforced concrete buildings with structural steel expansion in the south central and in the Ciudad Alegría sector of the city of Loja. Through a survey of information on site, a database was generated and to choose the four representative buildings.The linear dynamic analysis time history was carried. Then the seismic performance was verified by Pushover nonlinear static analysis. Maximum drifts, displacements and shears were obtained of the buildings with expansion and this allowed obtaining the capacity curve to determine the performance point, using the FEMA 440 (Capacity Spectrum Method) methodology for service-and design-earthquakes.It is concluded that the buildings under study do not comply with the NEC-2015 regulations even without expansion and result in deformations and unwanted levels of damage. The seismic performance described for building 2 and 3 is acceptable remaining operational and predicts life-threating performance in the event of a design earthquake. Buildings 1 and 4 collapse therefore their performance is unacceptable.
