Sobrecarga en cuidadores informales de adultos mayores en el Cantón Rumiñahui de la Provincia de Pichincha periodo 2019 -2020

Abstract

Abstract: This research work aimed to identify the level of overload in informal caregivers of older adults in the Rumiñahui Canton. The methodology used was descriptive, evaluating twenty informal caregivers and 20 older adults. The instruments used were: Sociodemographic Characteristics Questionnaire, Zarith Questionnaire Loading Scale; Caring, Barthel Index, GHQ-12 Questionnaire, Brief-Cope Front Facing Questionnaire, Duke-Unk Social Support, EPQR-A Questionnaire, Portable Questionnaire of Pfeiffer's Mental State.The presence of intense overload was evidenced in 80%, 55% feel they are capable of caring, and 55% consider themselves to have excellent health. The most used coping strategy is the practice of spirituality with an average of 4.45 followed by a positive way of approaching your life with an average of 4, the presence of social support is present in 65%, the trait of personality more Notable is extroversion with a mean of 4.4. Taking into account data from older adults, 15% have total dependence,20% present significant cognitive impairment.
