Ecuadorian public high school teachers perceptions on technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classrooms during the COVID-19 pandemic

Abstract

Abstract: The present investigation entitled Ecuadorian public high school teachers perceptions on technological resources used in their EFL classrooms during the Covid-19 pandemic aims to analyze the technological resources used by teachers in their EFL classes. This research was carried out in the city of Santo Domingo and the participants were 10 EFL teachers. During the research, a mixed method was used, that is, both quantitative and qualitative data were analyzed. The techniques used for data collection were surveys and interviews, and the instrument was a questionnaire. The results of the study indicate that virtual platforms, YouTube, online dictionaries, WhatsApp, digital games, and web pages are the technological tools that teachers always use in English classes. On the contrary, EFL teachers never use Facebook, Twitter, and Educational Apps in their teaching process. Due to the benefits that technology provides in the teaching and learning process teachers show a positive attitude toward technology. However, the EFL teachers want to learn more about technology use in English online classes and claim that they need more support from authorities, and training relating to this aspect.
