Abstract: The built heritage of rural sectors, due to their particular way of building with local materials, respond more efficiently to the climate and the cultural context of its inhabitants, which has given rise to venturing into the application of vernacular architecture. or traditional, in housing solutions related to the planet's climate change and aimed at the vulnerable population of society; the site's resources and self-construction are used as a means to lower costs; In addition, construction processes do not harm the environment and allow to revalue the identity and culture of the peoples. In this sense, the need to investigate and analyze the houses with vernacular characteristics of the Taquíl parish is seen, establishing the relationship between the built, the culture, and the context, which allows to extract ideas, contrast, and adapt to the new forms of habitatof a contemporary society; Thus, social housing is proposed, which establishes a progressive and flexible planning before the different family groups, which allows them to adapt the house to their needs and economic possibilities.
