Caracterización Sedimentológica y Bioestratigráfica del Sector Llano Chiquito parroquia Yamana-Loja

Abstract:In the Llano Chiquito sector (Fm. Río Playas) located south of the Yamana parish, a micropaleontological study has not been carried out, for this reason, the present research work was carried out with the objective of evaluating the presence of microfossils, especially those of the foraminifer type. For its correct characterization, the sector was divided into two sections (one - two), in which a stratigraphic, sedimentological and bio stratigraphic study was carried out. During the technical visits, a total of 27 samples were collected, which were used in different analyzes. The results obtained through the granulometric analysis suggest that the sector is composed of grains with sizes ranging from pebbles to edges, the petrographic and geochemical analyzes indicate that the main sources of contribution are the Amotape Tahuin Block and the Celica Volcanic Arc. Finally, the micropaleontological analysis suggests that within the sector there is a considerable abundance of microfossils of the foraminiferous type, which theoretically suggests that the lithofacies found would correspond to the Casanga Formation or that the Río Playas Formation could have contributions from a marine platform.
