Abstract: | Abstract: The objective of this research was to analyze the psychometric properties of the Avoidance and Action Questionnaire (AAQ-7) scale adapted to the study population, using a cross-sectional and psychometric design, in a sample of 100 university students from Ecuador, aged mean age 22, 54% were women. The instruments used to evaluate the different variables were: Avoidance and Action Questionnaire (AAQ-7, flexibility/inflexibility), Patient Health Questionnaire of Depression and Anxiety (PHQ-4, anxiety, and depression), Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-14, stress perceived); Brief Resilience Scale (BRS, resilience). The results obtained were: in terms of reliability, an α= 0.915 was obtained, showing high internal consistency. The exploratory factorial analysis yielded a unifactorial structure that explains 67.042% of the total variance. Finally, using Pearson's r correlations, the AAQ-7 scores were evaluated with measures of anxiety and depression (PHQ-4) (r=0.663, p˂0.01), stress (PSS-14) (r=0.681, p˂0.01) and resilience (BRS) (r=-0.634, p˂0.01) showing high and statistically significant correlations. The AAQ-7 scale showed good psychometric properties, which supports it as a valid and reliable instrument to measure psychological flexibility/inflexibility. |
