Abstract

Abstract: The immovable cultural heritage that contains the historic center of Riobamba is the sample of consolidation processes ofa city with colonial antecedents and nearby republican processes that promoted changes in the houses that the historic center currently has. However, the evidence of "emptied" structures through processes of elimination of constituent elements of the property establishes the need to generate documents that allow identifying and resolving the damages that occur over time, therefore the objective of this thesis. is to diagnose the main damages that they suffer, emphasizing the study of walls, which allow proposing appropriate intervention procedures for their remediation. For this, the inductive method was used, compiling processes that are currently being developed by construction professionals and those that scientific research has proposed in order to adapt them to the reality of Riobamba. In addition, the research corroborates the sustainability of the rescue processes of heritage buildings as an enhancer in the face of the constructive reality of these buildings, identifying more advantages for their safeguarding.
