Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to analyze the factors that influence the choice of a Finance major in the Rumiñahui canton, Pichincha province, during the year 2024. A descriptive methodology with a qualitative approach was used, focusing on understanding the students' experiences. The results show that the main motivation for choosing Finance is linked to the desire to contribute to social well-being, which reflects an orientation toward humanistic values. Students see the major not only as an opportunity for personal development but also as an opportunity to generate a positive impact on the community. Furthermore, the economic stability and opportunities for professional growth offered by the major are key factors in their decision. Students value job security and growth in a competitive sector. Together, these factors demonstrate a balance between personal aspirations and the interest in generating social value, highlighting the importance of achieving both professional success and collective well-being.
