Abstract

Abstract: This paper addresses the design of a tourist route to promote the development of the canton of Piñas, located in the province of El Oro, Ecuador. Using a mixed methodology that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches, the canton's main natural, cultural, and gastronomic resources were identified, as well as the challenges and opportunities in terms of infrastructure and sustainability. The research included the application of the Delphi method to gather the perspectives of tourism sector experts, which allowed for the development of a proposal aligned with current trends in sustainable tourism and ecotourism. The results highlight the importance of enhancing the natural and cultural wealth of Piñas, along with strengthening tourism infrastructure and community training. The proposal seeks to position Piñas as an attractive and sustainable destination, generating economic, social, and environmental benefits.
