Abstract

Abstract: This curricular integration project addresses the academic preferences of law students and their relationship to the Sustainable Development Goals through the analysis of a ruling by the Constitutional Court of Ecuador. In this case, the academic preference focused on Labor Law. In one case, the violation of the rights to health, social security, and a dignified life was addressed through administrative and coercive actions taken by the IESS (Spanish Social Security Institute) that harmed Doris Escobar, who filed a protection action due to inconsistencies in the medical care she received for her breast and colon cancer. In this way, the project fulfilled its objective of analyzing the relationship between SDG 3, Health and Well-being, and the subject of Labor Law in a ruling that identifies the violation of rights such as due process and legal certainty, thus highlighting the importance of legal analysis in the global goals of the 2030 Agenda.
