Abstract

Abstract: For the research on the fulfillment of Sustainable Development Goal 15 (SDG 15) in Ecuador, the proposed topic analyzes biodiversity conservation and the sustainable management of terrestrial ecosystems in the country. The general objective is to evaluate the policies and practices implemented to protect protected areas and promote the sustainable use of natural resources, in line with the SDG 15 approach, which prioritizes the protection of terrestrial life. The preferred subject is Environmental Law, considering its relevance to regulations that support ecosystem protection and natural resource management. In the case of Ecuador, the research focuses on the progress and challenges in the implementation of sustainable practices, ranging from reforestation to the protection of endangered species. Furthermore, the research seeks to document the effects of these policies on the preservation of critical habitats, which responds to the international commitments adopted by the country in the 2030 Agenda and its respective SDGs.
