Abstract

Abstract: This research focuses on a case of fraud related to the transfer of real estate in Quito. A citizen, unable to obtain a loan due to his negative credit history, resorts to a loan secured by his property, which is transferred to a third party. Despite an agreement to reverse the transfer, the property is mortgaged and auctioned off after a foreclosure proceeding. The overall objective was to analyze how this case reflects the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 16, on the promotion of just, peaceful, and inclusive societies, and its relationship to the 2024-2025 National Development Plan, focusing on justice, transparency, and social well-being. The sample consisted of an analysis of the judicial process in the case and the conviction for fraud. Qualitative methods were used, including documentary analysis techniques and tools such as the analysis of judgments and legal documents to interpret the judicial context. The overall conclusion highlights the importance of an efficient, accessible, and transparent judicial system that guarantees justice and protection for citizens, promoting inclusion and social well-being.
