Abstract

Abstract:This research was developed with the purpose of evaluating the Management Effectiveness of the Yacuambi Municipal Ecological Conservation Area and to verify if it complies with the creation objectives. To achieve this objective, a methodology based on the Hookings Reference Framework and the methodology of the World Commission on Protected Areas (WCPA) was implemented, where different parameters and areas within the area were analyzed and evaluated. The implemented methodology made it possible to identify the current situation of the area and the strengths and weaknesses of its management. The evaluation of management effectiveness (EEM) resulted in a percentage of 50.79%, equivalent to an unsatisfactory level of management, that is, one that moderately meets the conservation objectives. For this reason, a plan of corrective actions that can contribute to reaching the determined objectives.
