Abstract

Abstract: The present thesis focuses on the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals, a series of global targets established by the UN to address the world's most pressing social, economic, and environmental challenges. The particular focus is on SDG number 16, which aims at promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, facilitating access to justice, and building effective and inclusive institutions at all levels. The research conducted delves into Goal No. 16 using an explanatory and dialectical methodology. It highlights how the implementation of this objective ensures the respect and protection of human rights, including due process, judicial protection, and legal certainty. These elements are essential to ensure the rule of law and equal access to justice for all individuals, regardless of their social, economic, or cultural status. After a thorough study of judgment No. 168-19-EP, it is evident that the judges responsible for administering justice violated rights related to Goal No. 16, such as effective judicial protection, due process, and the right to legal certainty, by not admitting the protection action filed by the appellant.
