Abstract

Abstract: The document "Academic Preferences of Law Students and Their Connection to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Through the Study of Court Rulings" analyzes academic preferences and their relationship with SDG 16, which aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies, ensure access to justice, and strengthen institutions. As the main focus of analysis, the document examines Ruling No. 018-15-SEP-C from the Constitutional Court of Ecuador, which is linked to fundamental rights such as effective judicial protection, access to justice, good public administration, and citizen participation. Based on this case, key aspects of SDG 16 are addressed, including violence reduction, the fight against corruption, and the strengthening of the rule of law. Is structured into four chapters: the first reviews the literature on the SDGs and SDG 16 from a legal and political perspective; the second details materials and methods; the third analyzes the relationship between student competencies and global issues; and the fourth discusses human rights trends in the post-COVID-19 era and their impact on public policies. This highlights the knowledge acquired in Law and its alignment with the SDGs.
