Abstract

Abstract: This study analyzes the connection between law students' academic preferences and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 16, through an examination of Judgment No. 410-22-EP/23 of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador. It explores how this ruling, which addresses violations of the rights to defense, legal certainty, and identity, relates to the goal of promoting just, peaceful, and inclusive societies. The research highlights the importance of strengthening the rule of law and judicial institutions to ensure access to justice and the protection of fundamental rights. Furthermore, it emphasizes the need for comprehensive legal education that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills and a deep understanding of global challenges. This approach enables future lawyers to effectively contribute to the achievement of the SDGs and the strengthening of the justice system.
