Abstract: The ruling by the Ecuadorian Constitutional Court in the case of Andrés Sebastián Cevallos Argudo addresses the guarantee of equitable access to healthcare and underscores the importance of effective judicial protection for persons with disabilities. This ruling contributes to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, ensuring universal access to healthcare services, especially for vulnerable individuals. Furthermore, it highlights the importance of considering the specific needs of persons with disabilities in judicial decisions. This ruling sets crucial precedents in Ecuador for the protection of constitutional rights, particularly in relation to the right to health and a dignified life. It also highlights the need for effective judicial protection that takes into account the specific needs of persons with disabilities, thus contributing to building a more just and inclusive society. Finally, Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3 and the selected ruling illustrate how the legal and judicial framework can be effectively leveraged to promote the sustainable development goals and ensure the protection of the fundamental rights of all people.
