Abstract

Abstract: The work was carried out based on goal number 6 of the 17 sustainable development goals, legal doctrine and both national and international regulations were analyzed, their application and the obstacles that have to be overcome to fully meet this goal that is clean water and sanitation. To understand in a more objective way, the violation of the fundamental rights to water and sanitation, a sentence issued by the Constitutional Court regarding the flow of the Aquepi River was studied, due to the violation of the rights protected in the constitution, the international treaties of law regarding the principle of pro natura, environmental consultation and effective judicial protection of protected rights, the ruling was historic, respecting the resolution issued by the General Assembly of the United Nations in 2010, where clean water and sanitation were recognized as a fundamental right, and that this is a requirement for the full fulfillment of other rights, such as the rights of nature, health, social and agricultural welfare, etc.
