Abstract

Abstract: The Constitution of the Republic of Ecuador contains guarantees not only for the fundamental rights of citizens but also for specific rights in judicial processes. From the study of Human Rights, due process is considered a basic legal guarantee; this right has evolved within constitutional norms and national procedural laws. This right seeks to respect human dignity. During the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, the 2030 Agenda was created, which was adopted in 2015 to address global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change. Within this agenda, SDG 16 is developed, which aims to ensure peace, justice, and strong institutions in all countries around the world. This thesis is written with the purpose of analyzing ruling 2791-17-EP/23, which delves into the analysis of the right to due process, specifically regarding the right to defense, impartiality, and the country's progress concerning SDG 16 to guarantee these rights.
