Abstract

Abstract: This study examines the link between the academic preferences of Law students and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. The research delves into the critical analysis of relevant judicial rulings to understand how the justice system contributes to promoting principles of peace and justice and strengthening effective institutions. Through a methodology that includes the selection and study of significant case law, the study seeks to identify decision-making patterns that highlight the impact of judicial functions on the realization of the values inherent to SDG 16. Findings underscore the ability of court rulings to reinforce legal structures and foster equitable and accessible justice. The study also presents recommendations aimed at optimizing judicial practices aligned with the sustainable development goals, thereby advancing a legal system that reflects greater fairness and efficiency.
