Salud Mental, Capital Psicológico y Satisfacción Laboral en docentes de una Unidad Educativa Fiscal del sector norte de la ciudad de Quito, durante el año 2024

Abstract

Abstract: Mental health well-being is fundamental to the professional performance of faculty in educational institutions. This study, with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental descriptive cross-sectional design, aims to determine the prevalence of mental health, psychological capital, and job satisfaction among teachers of basic education and high school at a public educational institution in Quito during 2024. The sample consisted of 51 teachers selected through non-probabilistic accidental sampling. Instruments such as the Ad Hoc Sociodemographic and Labor Questionnaire, the DASS-21 Scale to measure mental health, the PsyCap for psychological capital, and the Job Satisfaction Scale were used. The teachers show favorable psychological state and job satisfaction, although a few cases with moderate levels of anxiety, depression, and stress were identified that require attention. It is recommended to implement preventive interventions and strengthen the work environment to improve the overall well-being of teachers and promote more effective academic performance.
