| Abstract: | Abstract: The main objective of this research is to identify the preferences of Law students in specific areas and the Sustainable Development Goals through the analysis of rulings related to ruling No. 2170-18-EP 2020 of the Constitutional Court of Ecuador, issued on July 29, 2020. This ruling exposes the violation of the constitutional rights to legal security and due process by the Specialized Criminal Chamber of the National Court of Justice. SDG 16 aims to establish strong, effective and inclusive institutions at all levels, and foster peace and justice. Various research techniques were used and it was found that the areas of Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure are the most popular among students, which highlights the importance of strengthening legal aspects related to access to justice and human rights. It is important to strengthen judicial institutions to ensure compliance with basic laws and rights, promoting equality, peace and democracy, and also to achieve SDG 16. |
| Description: | Resumen: El objetivo principal de esta investigación es identificar las preferencias de los estudiantes de Derecho en áreas específicas y los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible mediante el análisis de sentencias relacionadas con el fallo No. 2170-18-EP 2020 de la Corte Constitucional del Ecuador, emitido el 29 de julio de 2020. Esta sentencia expone la vulneración de los derechos constitucionales a la seguridad jurídica y al debido proceso por parte de la Sala Especializada de lo Penal de la Corte Nacional de Justicia. El ODS 16 tiene como objetivo establecer instituciones sólidas, efectivas e inclusivas a todos los niveles, y fomentar la paz y la justicia. Se utilizaron diversas técnicas de investigación y se encontró que las áreas de Derecho Penal y Procesal Penal son las más populares entre los estudiantes, lo que destaca la importancia de fortalecer aspectos legales relacionados con el acceso a la justicia y los derechos humanos. Es importante fortalecer las instituciones judiciales para asegurar el cumplimiento de las leyes y derechos básicos, fomentando la igualdad, la paz y la democracia, y también para lograr el ODS 16. |
