Abstract

Abstract: The focus of this degree project is the transformation of "SISGAP," a monolithic web application designed for project management. Originally crafted in 2013 for the Research Center for Health in Latin America (CISeAL), the application is set to be revamped into a contemporary MVC architecture, hosted on cloud services. The overhaul includes updating the tech stack by swapping out outdated versions of MySQL, PHP, AJAX, and BOOTSTRAP for their latest iterations and new implementations. The primary goal of this migration is to streamline and enhance the efficiency of workflows and processes through a more robust architecture. This involves reducing the number of interfaces and centralizing the data that users need. Furthermore, the project will see SISGAP's migration to the AWS cloud, which offers numerous advantages including high availability, automatic data backups, and the removal of physical server maintenance costs. The anticipated outcomes of this project are a significant boost in the system's performance, ease of maintenance, and scalability.
