Abstract

Abstract: The research focuses on the academic preferences of Law students and their connection to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the study of court rulings, as outlined on the first page of the study. The objective is to understand the factors influencing UTPL Law graduates to develop preferences for specific areas of legal science and specialize in them. The research was conducted in Quito. A systematic methodology was employed to organize information in an orderly and efficient manner, defining categories to optimize its use. Due to its emphasis on reviewing jurisprudence, legal norms, and doctrine, the research adopts a theoretical-deductive approach. Its integration of Law with social and economic phenomena grants it a socio-legal character. To analyze rulings and the reasoning behind protecting legal interests such as life, health, and the environment, methods of analysis and synthesis were applied. The exegetical method further allowed for the interpretation of data and the identification of indicators regarding progress toward the SDGs. This approach underscores the importance of aligning national practices with international standards and promoting sustainable development.
