Salud mental, capital psicológico y satisfacción laboral en docentes ecuatorianos

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of the study was to determine the prevalence of mental health, psychological capital and job satisfaction in Ecuadorian teachers in the Nuevos Horizontes sector in the city of Esmeraldas during the year 2022, it was carried out with a quantitative, non-correlational and non-experimental approach. being descriptive and transversal. In terms of mental health, it was found that there was a prevalence of mild symptoms of anxiety (81.4%), stress (95.3%) and depression (88.4%). Despite these results, it was determined that teachers have a high level of psychological capital, demonstrating levels above the midpoint in areas of efficacy, hope, resilience, and optimism. On the other hand, the results revealed that job satisfaction, both intrinsic and extrinsic, is high, approaching the maximum possible values, and general satisfaction was in a high range, indicating a satisfactory degree of job satisfaction. In conclusion, teachers in this sector experience mild symptoms of anxiety, stress and depression, and have high psychological capital and high job satisfaction.
