Análisis descriptivo del subempleo en el Ecuador en el periodo 2014-2024

Abstract

Abstract: Economics is a social science in which one of its purposes is to maximize the well-being of the agents who participate in it. In this sense, this study descriptively analyzes the evolution of underemployment in Ecuador in the period 2014 2024; Therefore, a review of economic trends over time is carried out to identify if there are vestiges or ideas related to underemployment as a phenomenon of study, and the empirical evidence available was also investigated to know the approaches that this topic has had in the economic field and thus try to characterize this type of employment for the Ecuadorian reality. Therefore, descriptive documentary techniques were applied to characterize underemployment in the country and identify the presence or absence of effective policies that seek to mitigate the indices related to this type of unsuitable employment.
