Abstract

Abstract: Sustainable Development Goal 15 (SDG 15) aims to conserve life on land. It seeks to protect and restore terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation, and halt biodiversity loss. Terrestrial ecosystems are vital to sustaining human life, contribute to more than half of global GDP, and encompass diverse cultural, spiritual, and economic values. In my work, I examine the importance of implementing extraordinary protection action to achieve SDG 15 because it focuses on the protection, restoration, and sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, which is crucial for the well-being of people and the health of the planet. This is because it implements environmental norms and legislation, the principles of sustainability and sustainable development, environmental education and awareness, and environmental responsibility and justice. In short, environmental law implements a set of regulations and tools that seek to preserve natural resources, protect ecosystems, prevent and mitigate the negative impacts of human activities on the environment, and promote a more sustainable and just future.
